Aaron Awuku Larbi, a brave 6-year-old boy, is fighting for his life after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) — a severe and life-threatening form of blood cancer that affects children.
In March 2025, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ohene Larbi, rushed him to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after noticing worrying symptoms. After a series of tests, doctors confirmed that little Aaron has this deadly disease.
According to Dr. Samira Yamyolia, a pediatric oncologist at the hospital, Aaron urgently needs to begin chemotherapy and supportive care — treatment that will continue for over 3 years.
But there’s a challenge: the hospital requires an initial payment of GHS 100,000 before treatment can begin — an amount his family cannot afford.
