The introduction of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) has provided jobs for over 700 youth in the Western North Region according to the regional coordinator, Jesse Yaw Aidoo.
Many young people across the nine districts benefited from the initiative.
These beneficiaries were given start-up equipment to begin informal education through hairdressing and fashion designing with their training fees fully paid to the mentors.

Speaking to legendreport news during the Suaman District’s presentation to the beneficiaries, the regional coordinator, Jesse Yaw Aidoo, revealed that over 700 young people have benefited from the programme.
He said the initiative is in line with the government’s aim to provide jobs for the Ghanaian youth to reduce the unemployment rate.

While the mentors and beneficiaries share their appreciation, the Suaman District Chief Executive, Vasco Obour , urged the youth who found nothing doing to involve themselves in the initiative for a better future.
