The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a robbery attack that took place in December, 2025 at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region.
On 2nd December 2025, the suspects, together with other accomplices armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso-Tepa road and simultaneously attacked the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank area at Nkaseim.
During the attack, the assailants made away with two AK47 rifles, stole some cash amounts from the bank, Fourteen Thousand Cedis (GHC14,000.00) from the cocoa buying company, and Twelve thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC12,000.00) from the gold buying company. They also shot and injured an employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company.
Following sustained intelligence gathering and forensic investigations, the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit arrested Mutar Kofi, aged 35, a commercial tricycle rider, on 16th January 2026 at a location known as “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim, and he admitted his involvement in the robbery.
Further investigations led to the arrest of suspect Mahamadu Sagio, aged 45 at Nkaseim, suspect Shaibu Issah Jallo, alias Jibo, aged 28, at Chereponi, and suspect Abdul Suleman, aged 40, at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region. On 25 January 2026, one other suspect, Bukari Sulley, alias Tailor, aged 25, a trader at Alaba, Kumasi was also arrested in connection with the robbery.

Efforts have been intensified to arrest three (3) other suspects Dauda, Mohammed Ali and suspect Hoyeefi, who has been identified as the gang leader and is believed to be in possession of the stolen weapons, together with other firearms used during the robbery; and we will surely get him arrested to face the full rigours of the law.
