The Police have arrested a suspected land guard, Saviour Kojo Ekpe, at Abokobi in the Greater Accra Region following intelligence linking him to acts of intimidation and illegal possession of firearms in the area.

The arrest was carried out on 5th March 2026 after intelligence indicated that the suspect had been terrorising residents in Abokobi and its surrounding communities and was allegedly renting out weapons to criminals for unlawful activities.
A search conducted in his room led to the retrieval of four (4) pump action guns, 101 AA and BB live cartridges, one Glock Austria pistol, 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a jack knife.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted ownership of the weapons but failed to provide any lawful justification for possessing them. He claimed that some were used for hunting and personal protection. Investigators believe the weapons may have been rented out to individuals for criminal activities.

Police also arrested another suspect, Emmanuel Abbey, believed to be an accomplice of Ekpe, for allegedly threatening the life of a complainant. Both suspects are currently in Police custody assisting investigations.
