Nokware FM’s DJ Odenke Dies Suddenly at Bonsu Nkwanta

The media landscape of the Western North Region has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Nokware FM’s vibrant drive-time host, DJ Odenke.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Bonsu Nkwanta, where the well-known broadcaster reportedly collapsed at a local chop bar after complaining of dizziness. He fell and hit the back of his head on the tiled floor, leading to his instant death.

Earlier that same morning, DJ Odenke had shown no signs of illness. Friends and colleagues said he appeared energetic and even updated his WhatsApp status around 10:10 a.m., creating disbelief among many when news of his death broke.

Born and raised in the Western North Region, DJ Odenke built a remarkable career in broadcasting, beginning at Golden Pod Radio (now Life FM) in Juaboso before moving on to Beatz 95.5 FM in Asawinso, Unity Radio in Kwawu, and later Nokware 97.1 FM in Bonsu Nkwanta. At Nokware FM, he quickly became the station’s signature voice and a household name.

A graduate of the Oxford Institute of Business and Journalism, he was admired for his commanding voice, lively energy, and passion for radio. His drive-time program, known for its music, humor, and engaging conversations, earned him a loyal following across the region.

His passing has left colleagues, listeners, and the entire entertainment fraternity devastated, with many describing it as a huge blow to the Western North Region’s media industry.

The management and staff of Nokware FM have expressed their deep sadness, noting that DJ Odenke’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who listened to and worked with him.
