Responsible Cooperative Mining Skills and Development Programme Engages Stakeholders of Anwia-Teleku Bokazo Mining Pit

Ellembelle, Western Region – October 1, 2025: The Responsible Cooperative Mining Skills and Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) has held a high-level stakeholder engagement at the Ellembelle District Assembly Hall to discuss responsible and cooperative mining practices within the newly launched Anwia-Teleku Bokazo Mining Pit.

The meeting, led by Ing. Frank Asare-Pedro, Chief Executive Officer of rCOMSDEP, follows the official launch of the project by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP. It formed part of the government’s efforts to create sustainable jobs, promote responsible mining practices, and encourage community participation in the management of natural resources.

In his address, Ellembelle District Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Kwasi-Armah Agyekum, emphasized government’s commitment to responsible mining as a means of ensuring sustainable economic growth, environmental protection, and unity among stakeholders.

Ing. Asare-Pedro outlined key measures for best mining practices while sensitizing local miners on gold processing techniques at the community level. He urged stakeholders to avoid illegal mining and disunity, stressing the need to embrace the government’s initiative to protect the environment while creating jobs through rCOMSDEP.

The programme also created space for miners and community leaders to raise their concerns and share ideas. The traditional authorities—Nana Kwame Bentum (Chief of Salma), Nana Afful Kwaw II (Chief of Teleku Bokazo), and Nana Semali Kpanyinli V (Chief of Anwia)—expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged their full support to promote responsible mining practices for sustainable job creation.
