The Juaboso District Assembly has announced a major clean-up exercise scheduled for the end of July 2025, as part of its renewed commitment to improve sanitation across the district.
This initiative forms part of a broader plan by the Assembly to ensure a cleaner, healthier environment for residents. During his confirmation as District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Alexander Adu Quist emphasized that sanitation would be a top priority under his administration. He stressed the need for collective efforts to maintain hygiene and protect the environment to prevent the outbreak of diseases.
As part of the sanitation campaign, the Assembly plans to organize clean-up exercises at the end of every month in towns across the district.

Supporting this important initiative, the owner of Still Kingdom Guest House, Nana Kwadwo Donkor, has made a generous donation to aid the upcoming exercise. His contribution includes two wheelbarrows, ten shovels, and four cartons of bottled water. According to him, he was moved to support the campaign after receiving a letter from the Assembly requesting assistance. He expressed his belief in the importance of keeping the environment clean and disclosed that he often personally funds labourers to desilt gutters in his area to prevent mosquito breeding.
Nana Kwadwo Donkor also called on other community members, business owners, and stakeholders to support the Assembly’s efforts to enhance sanitation in the district.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Assembly, Mr. Alexander Adu Quist expressed profound gratitude to Nana Kwadwo Donkor for his timely support. He noted that while many letters had been sent to institutions and individuals requesting assistance, Still Kingdom was the first to respond.
He revealed that the monthly cost of conducting the clean-up exercise in Juaboso townships alone is estimated at GHS 12,000, a figure that far exceeds the Assembly’s current resources. He therefore appealed to the general public, businesses, and residents to support the initiative in any way possible.
The DCE also encouraged all residents to pay their local levies and taxes, explaining that the Assembly intends to use internally generated funds (IGF) to sustain the monthly clean-up exercises.
