Sefwi Bekwai Paramount Chief Commissions State-of-the-Art Clinic for the Community

The Paramount Chief of the Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area, Oyeadieyie Basape Kojo Armah III, has commissioned a modern clinic for the people of Bekwai to enhance healthcare delivery. The project was made possible through the support of Mission 318, an American-based non-governmental organization.

For years, the existing Sefwi Bekwai health facility, which served as the main healthcare provider for residents of Bekwai and surrounding areas, had been in a dilapidated condition. The outpatient department was frequently overcrowded due to limited space, and the clinic lacked essential equipment to provide quality healthcare services. As a result, many patients were referred to Sefwi Bibiani for treatment. In some cases, patients—especially women in labour—lost their lives due to delays in accessing critical care.

To address this longstanding challenge, Oyeadieyie Basape Kojo Armah III, with support from Mission 318, spearheaded the commissioning of a new, state-of-the-art clinic to complement the existing health infrastructure. The facility includes all the necessary medical units, well-equipped wards with hospital beds, and other vital resources to improve health service delivery.

During the inauguration, the paramount chief stated that the goal of the project was to improve healthcare access for the people of Sefwi Bekwai. He encouraged the health personnel and the entire community to utilize the facility effectively and maintain it for the benefit of current and future generations.

The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Health Director, Oheneba Oppong Darko, praised the paramount chief for the timely intervention. He noted that the new clinic would go a long way in raising the standard of healthcare in the area and easing pressure on referral facilities.

Residents who attended the commissioning expressed their sincere appreciation to the paramount chief for his commitment to the well-being of the community. They described the clinic as a transformative project that would save lives and bring relief to many families.
