The Sefwi Wiawso Magistrate Court, presided over by His Worship Eric Baah Boateng Esq., has remanded the two suspects involved in the diversion of food items meant for Awaso STEM Senior High School.
The two suspects, the school matron, Nyamadi Benedicta, and the cook, Rachel Kyeremateng, were accused of stealing food items meant for Awaso STEM Senior High School.


Items allegedly diverted into a private residence at Atronsu in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region include 21 bags of rice, 6 gallons of cooking oil, 40 tins of tomatoes, 4 boxes of milk, 1 bag of sugar, and quantities of maize, millet, gari, and other essential foodstuffs.
The suspects were charged with stealing.
The court, therefore, remanded the two suspects into police custody at Sehwi Bekwai and to reappear on January 5, 2026.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Bright Asamoah Brefo, reacting to the incident, stated that appropriate measures would be taken to ensure that anyone found culpable is dealt with in accordance with the law.


He noted that the action would serve as a deterrent to others.
