Sefwi Wiawso NPP Candidate Calls for Unity Amid Growing Internal Insults

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency, Festus Bumakama Agyapong, has expressed deep concern over what he describes as a rising culture of insults and divisive politics within the party.

According to him, the recent trend of name-calling and tribal undertones poses a serious threat to the unity and progress of the NPP. He noted that if even Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who has served diligently as Vice President, can be labeled a “stranger,” then the situation reflects a worrying shift in the party’s internal discourse.

Festus Bumakama Agyapong emphasized the need for members to reject tribal politics and instead channel their energy into promoting the party’s vision and achievements. He urged the rank and file of the NPP to rally behind Dr. Bawumia as the most marketable and experienced candidate capable of leading the party to victory in the 2028 general elections.

He further reminded members that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), currently in government, has access to national resources, which gives them an advantage. Therefore, unity and a strong, coordinated campaign around Dr. Bawumia’s record and message remain the NPP’s greatest strength.

The Sefwi Wiawso candidate called on all party faithful to set aside internal differences, uphold respect for one another, and work collectively to ensure the NPP’s comeback in 2028.
