A sod-cutting ceremony has been held at Tikobo, a farming community in the Sefwi Bodi District of the Western North Region, for the construction of a 6-unit classroom block with a 6-seater WC toilet facility and a mechanized borehole.

The project comes as a major relief to residents, as the current school structure is in a deplorable state, posing a danger to both pupils and teachers. Reports of snakes and other harmful animals entering the classrooms have made teaching and learning extremely difficult.
The ceremony, held on Friday, 28th November 2025, was led by the Member of Parliament for Bodi and Deputy Minister for Trade and Agribusiness, Sampson Ahi, together with the District Chief Executive for Bodi, Stephen Baidoo, and the chiefs of Tikobo.

Addressing the gathering, Ahi urged the community to take full ownership of the project and monitor its progress. He cautioned them against allowing the
contractor to deliver shoddy work, stressing that poor construction will ultimately affect the community.
He encouraged residents to report any concerns to the District Assembly, noting that the Assembly has qualified engineers who will inspect and ensure that the right standards are met. Ahi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bringing development to every Ghanaian for an improved quality of life.
