Suaman DCE Commissions Two Legacy Projects in Karlo

The Suaman District Assembly, led by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Vasco Obour, has commissioned two major legacy projects in the Karlo community of the Suaman District in the Western North Region.

The projects include a nine-unit classroom block comprising six classrooms for basic education, two for kindergarten, and an office, as well as a modern workshop and office complex for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). Both projects were initiated under the previous government but have now been completed and handed over to serve the community.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Obour commended the President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama , for his commitment to completing all abandoned projects started by successive governments. He emphasized that such initiatives represent the prudent use of taxpayers’ money, and therefore, no project should be left unfinished.

“The President has tasked all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to ensure that abandoned projects in their jurisdictions are completed and put to good use,” he said.

Mr. Obour highlighted that the new PWD workshop would serve as a training center for persons living with disabilities, equipping them with employable skills to improve their livelihoods.

He further assured that the Assembly remains committed to completing the remaining uncompleted projects across the district. The DCE also appealed to community members and facility users to take good care of the new structures and ensure their proper maintenance for long-term use.
