THUNDER RAINSTORM WREAKS HAVOC AT SEFWI NKWADUM; DCE ASSURES AFFECTED RESIDENTS OF GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

A heavy thunder rainstorm has wreaked havoc at Sefwi Nkwadum in the Sefwi Akontombra District of the Western North Region, displacing several residents and damaging properties.

In response to the incident, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) swiftly deployed a team to the community to assess the level of destruction and provide immediate relief to affected persons.

Demonstrating leadership and compassion, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sefwi Akontombra, Joseph Appiah, visited the community to engage directly with victims and evaluate the situation. During the visit, he encouraged the affected residents and assured them of the Assembly’s commitment to supporting their recovery efforts.

The DCE further directed that the community’s lighting system, which was damaged by the storm, be repaired immediately to restore safety and normalcy.

Appiah also assured residents that, together with the Member of Parliament for the area, Pious Kwame Nkuah, every necessary step would be taken to ensure that all victims receive adequate support.

Residents expressed gratitude to NADMO and the District Assembly for their swift intervention and leadership, while appealing for continued assistance to help them rebuild their homes and livelihoods.

The Sefwi Akontombra District Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with relevant stakeholders to provide both short-term relief and long-term recovery support to the affected community.
