Two twins, identified as Atta Kofi and Ebi Wom, both aged 28, have allegedly beaten a 33-year-old man, Theophilus Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi KK, to death at Sefwi Boinzan in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.
Confirming the incident, the Assemblyman for the Boinzan Electoral Area, Aha Kojo Vincent, said the deceased had gone to a river in the community to wash what was described as “gold.”
He explained that residents had earlier been cautioned against such activities along the river due to concerns about water pollution.
According to the account, one of the twins, who lives close to the river, confronted the deceased and asked him to stop the activity. The victim reportedly refused, leading to a heated argument. The situation escalated when the second twin joined, resulting in a physical altercation.
The twins allegedly assaulted Gyamfi severely.
He was initially taken home for treatment, but due to the seriousness of his condition, the family decided to rush him to the Juaboso Government Hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead on the way.
The suspects are said to have fled after the incident, while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Juaboso Government Hospital mortuary pending investigations.
