Two scrap dealers have been brutally lynched at Ntensere in the Ashanti Region following allegations of attempted child theft.
According to reports, the victims identified as Alhasan and Nagolo were in the community to purchase scrap materials when residents suspected them of attempting to steal a child. The suspicion quickly escalated into mob action, leading to their deaths. Their motorcycle was also set ablaze.
The Unit Committee Vice Chairperson, Saramatu Zackaria, confirmed the incident, stating that by the time she arrived at the scene, the victims had already been killed.
Residents claimed the men attempted to abduct a three-year-old child, but the allegation remains unverified. She strongly condemned the act and called for a full police investigation.
The Ashanti Regional Scrap Dealers Association has since visited the scene, with its president, Alhaji Abdulai Gagala, demanding justice.
“This is becoming too frequent… Our members are often attacked based on false accusations. We are not thieves—people should stop killing us,” he stated.

No arrests have been made so far. The bodies have been deposited at the morgue for autopsy, while police investigations are ongoing.
