Western North NDC Youth Organiser Urges Unity and Patriotism on Ghana’s Independence Day

The Western North Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Frederick Asante, has called on Ghanaians, especially the youth, to reflect on the true meaning of independence as the nation marks its anniversary.

In a message to commemorate the celebration, Mr. Asante said Ghana’s independence remains a historic milestone that reminds citizens of the sacrifices made by the country’s forefathers who fought tirelessly for freedom and self-governance.

He noted that the declaration of independence by Ghana’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah, marked the beginning of a new era for the nation and also inspired many African countries to pursue their own freedom from colonial rule.

Mr. Asante emphasised that Independence Day should not only be a moment for celebration but also a time for deep reflection on how citizens can contribute to national development and unity.

According to him, the youth of Ghana have a major role to play in shaping the future of the country through hard work, discipline, and active participation in governance and community development.

He further encouraged young people to uphold the values of patriotism, peace, and national unity while working together to build a stronger and more prosperous Ghana.

Mr. Asante also urged political leaders, civil society organisations, and citizens to renew their commitment to the vision of a better Ghana as the country continues to build on the legacy of its independence.
