Western North Region: Mass Burial Held for Asuopiri Crash Victims in Bia West District

A mass burial has been held at Asuopiri in the Bia West District of the Western North Region for seven victims of the tragic road accident that occurred at Asikuma on January 7, 2026.

About two weeks ago, Legendreport reported that seven persons lost their lives after a timber truck ran over an aboboyaa tricycle carrying eight farmers who were heading to their farms at Adabokrom in the Bia East District.

The heartbreaking incident claimed eight lives in total, with reports confirming that five of the deceased were members of the same family, deepening the sorrow within the community.

Those laid to rest today were identified as Isaac Acquah, 64; Elizabeth Asiedu, 53; Cecilia Samah, 55; Dora Asiedu, 64; Yaa Ampomah, 70; Akua Bronya, 70; and Ama Yamoah, 62.

Scores of mourners, including relatives, friends, and community members, gathered at Asuopiri to pay their final respects amid tears and grief.

The somber ceremony served as a reminder of the devastating impact of road accidents in the region and the need for stricter road safety measures.
