Yakasi Chief Donates to Enchi College of Education, Calls for Protection of School Lands

The Chief of Yakasi, Nana Enoku Panyin, has donated a tabletop refrigerator to the Enchi College of Education in support of its upcoming 3rd graduation ceremony. The donation, according to him, is intended to motivate excellence by serving as an award for the most outstanding teaching and non-teaching staff members of the college. He emphasized his continuous commitment to supporting the institution in diverse ways to promote quality education and development.

Addressing the gathering, Nana Enoku Panyin raised concerns about the encroachment on the college’s lands. He revealed that the Omanhene of Aowin, together with the traditional council, has taken the matter to court to prevent unlawful occupation by residents. He cautioned individuals living around the institution to desist from encroaching on the land, stressing that traditional authorities will not permit any attempt to take over property belonging to the college.

The chief noted that protecting the college’s land is not only about safeguarding property but also about securing the future of education in the Aowin area. He reiterated that the traditional authorities consider the college a lasting legacy for the people of Aowin and will work tirelessly to preserve and expand it for future generations.

The Principal of the College, Prof. Francis Kwaw Andoh, expressed deep appreciation to Nana Enoku Panyin for his generous gesture and continued support. He described the donation as timely and impactful, adding that recognizing the efforts of non-teaching staff plays a crucial role in enhancing overall institutional performance.

Prof. Andoh also used the occasion to call on other chiefs, opinion leaders, and stakeholders in the Aowin Traditional Area and beyond to rally their support for the college. He noted that the collective contribution of all stakeholders is essential to strengthening academic excellence, improving infrastructure, and positioning the college as a model institution for teacher education in Ghana.
