Year Under Review: Juaboso District Assembly Accounts for Its Developmental Achievements in 2025

The Juaboso District Assembly, led by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Alexander Adu Quist, has presented its developmental achievements for the year 2025.

At the first General Assembly meeting of 2026, held on February 17 at Juaboso, Mr. Adu Quist highlighted key milestones the Assembly achieved during the year under review.

Revenue Mobilization
According to the DCE, the Assembly recorded significant improvement in its revenue mobilization efforts.
In 2025, the Assembly mobilized ₵1,334,368.89, exceeding its revised budget target of ₵1,196,200.00 by 11.55%. This, he said, marked a remarkable increase compared to the 2024 collection of ₵616,597.49, representing over 216% growth in internally generated funds.

Education
Mr. Adu Quist also commended the education sector’s performance in the district.
He revealed that 90.5% of the 1,753 candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) passed successfully.
As a result of this outstanding performance, the district produced the 2025 Regional Nominee for the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence.

Health
Touching on health, the DCE mentioned several interventions achieved through collaboration between the Assembly and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.
These include:
Provision of delivery beds for selected health facilities.
Completion of four new CHPS compounds in Africa, Agoozikrom, Kwasi Adjeikrom, and Hwemehiaa, supported by the MP’s Common Fund.

Construction of two additional CHPS compounds at Fantraline and Adwumam, funded by the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), which are currently ongoing.

Provision of 10 motorbikes, one vehicle, and two tricycles by the MP to enhance health service delivery.

Organization of health sensitization programs, free medical screenings, and surgeries for residents with various medical conditions.

Agriculture
In the agricultural sector, the Assembly, in collaboration with the Directorate of Agriculture, distributed 6,000 coconut seedlings to 250 farmers across the district.

Under the government’s “Planting for Food and Jobs – Feed Ghana Programme,” a total of 898 farmer-based organizations representing over 22,500 farmers were sensitized and registered to receive support.

Road Infrastructure
Mr. Adu Quist disclosed that the Assembly had mobilized resources to reshape several key roads across the district, including:
Mafia to Krikosue – 23km
Eteso Junction to Eteso – 23km
Asawinso to Agyemang Diem stretch, among others.

He assured residents that the Assembly remains committed to ensuring the continuous development and progress of the Juaboso District.
