The Member of Parliament for Akontombra, Mr Pious Kwame Nkuah, has praised Sampson Ahi, MP for Bodi and Deputy Minister for Agribusiness, Trade and Industry, as well as Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, MP for Juaboso and Minister of Health, for their support in his political journey. Mr. Nkuah lauded his senior colleagues in Parliament for the crucial roles they played in helping him secure the party’s parliamentary candidacy despite the significant opposition he faced.
According to him, when the party decided he should go unopposed, there was still resistance from some party supporters. He revealed that Sampson Ahi personally reached out to assure him of full support. “Ahi called me and said he would do everything to help me succeed—and he kept his promise,” Pious recounted. “After I won the primaries, he called again and told me, ‘You will be MP.’ He did everything he could to support me, and I am very grateful.
Speaking about mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, he said, “Akandoh is like a brother to me. He played a significant role in my victory. He assisted me during my campaign and supported me financially. I thank him deeply for that.
He also acknowledged Mr. Michael Aidoo (Big Aidoo), the Western North Regional Chairman and now a Member of the Council of State, for his unwavering support.Pious recounted the difficult journey to his current position, saying that many mocked his ambition. “My opponents laughed at me.
They said I had nothing and even joked that I would use my wife to contest. But God uses the rejected stone to become the cornerstone,” he said.He added, “I was rejected by men, but now I am the Member of Parliament for Akontombra. I went through a lot, but it was by the grace of God.
In conclusion, he gave thanks to God for guiding him through the challenges and making his victory possible.
