Former Deputy Minister for Finance and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Juaboso Constituency in the 2024 general election, Dr. Alex Ampaabeng, has been appointed as an Advisor and a member of the NPP’s Finance and Economy Committee by former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The appointment was confirmed during a courtesy call by Dr. Ampaabeng on Dr. Bawumia on Wednesday morning.
According to Dr. Ampaabeng, the meeting focused on several key issues, including his ongoing United Nations-supported project on cross-border taxation and digital transactions in Africa, as well as broader economic and development challenges facing the continent.
He noted that he was encouraged by Dr. Bawumia’s continued commitment to policy innovation, economic transformation, and national development. He also welcomed information about some of Dr. Bawumia’s current initiatives, including work on an upcoming book on Africa’s digital economy.
Dr. Ampaabeng expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him through the appointment and pledged his unwavering commitment to supporting Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party, and their shared vision of advancing Ghana’s economic growth and development.
He emphasized the need for party unity and collective effort to build a stronger NPP and a more prosperous Ghana.
