TikToker Emmanuel Amoako, popularly known as,( In Focus GH) TikTok, has reportedly arrested and detained at Sefwi Debiso by the Ghana Police Service.
Amoako, who is based at Kwame Tawiah Krom (KTK) in the Bia West District, was reportedly arrested on Wednesday at about 3:00 p.m. at his base.
According to information available to legendreport , the blogger is alleged to have spread misinformation and made comments perceived as inciting residents of KTK against the Member of Parliament for Bia West, Mustapha Amadu Tanko.
The arrest is said to be linked to commentary made by Amoako on TikTok concerning the ongoing expansion of MTN network connectivity in the constituency. In the commentary, he allegedly accused the MP of excluding KTK from five communities expected to benefit from the project, which the MP is reported to have lobbied for.
Reports further indicate that the arrest followed instructions allegedly attributed to the Bia West MP, Mustapha Amadu Tanko, and the Bia West District Chief Executive, Mathew Annor.
Attempts to Verify
Legendreport, attempted to verify the circumstances surrounding the arrest with the Bia West District Chief Executive, Mathew Annor. However, the DCE was unable to provide an explanation when contacted, and the call ended twice.
Legendreport made several attempts to contact the Bia West MP, Mustapha Amadu Tanko, for his response. However, his phone line was repeatedly busy.
