MTN Ghana has outlined its sustainability strategy, anchored on four key pillars, as part of its commitment to digital inclusion, environmental sustainability, ethical business practices and economic growth.
Speaking at MTN Ghana’s media engagement in the Western North Region, Kennedy Ofosuhene, Corporate Services Advisor for Southern Ghana, explained that the company’s sustainability agenda is built around Doing for People, Doing for Planet, Doing It Right, and Doing for Growth.
According to Mr. Ofosuhene, the four pillars align with Ghana’s development priorities, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the country’s digital transformation agenda.

Under the Doing for People pillar, MTN focuses on promoting digital and financial inclusion, gender equality and affordable connectivity. These efforts include expanding its telecommunications network and Mobile Money services to enable more people to access digital and financial services.
The Doing for Planet pillar centres on environmental sustainability, with MTN targeting Net Zero emissions by 2040. The company is also pursuing renewable energy solutions, energy efficiency and responsible resource management as part of its efforts to reduce its environmental impact.
Under Doing It Right, the company prioritises ethical conduct, strong corporate governance and the protection of digital rights and customer privacy. The pillar reflects MTN’s commitment to responsible business practices and building trust among customers and other stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Doing for Growth focuses on investments in infrastructure, skills development, innovation and entrepreneurship. The initiative seeks to support job creation, strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and contribute to the growth of Ghana’s digital economy.

Mr. Ofosuhene also expressed appreciation to the people of the Western North Region and other customers for their loyalty over the past 30 years.
He highlighted the MTN BRIGHT Scholarship programme as part of the company’s educational support initiatives, encouraging qualified young people in the region to apply for the scholarship to support their tertiary education.
He reaffirmed MTN Ghana’s commitment to creating shared value for its customers, communities and business partners while contributing to Ghana’s sustainable development.
The engagement provided an opportunity for MTN Ghana to communicate its sustainability priorities and strengthen its relationship with media practitioners in the Western North Region.
