The Western North Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Michael Aidoo, popularly known as Big Aidoo, has described the Western North Region as the “IMF headquarters” of the party, citing what he says is the region’s strong support for the NDC.
According to him, the people of the Western North Region have consistently demonstrated their love for the party, making the region an important base for the NDC.
Big Aidoo noted that while the Volta Region is often referred to as the NDC’s “World Bank,” he considers Western North a major stronghold of the party, hence his description of the region as the NDC’s “IMF headquarters.”
He said he and his team worked hard to increase the NDC’s votes in the Western North Region during the 2024 general elections and expressed his determination to build on those efforts ahead of the 2028 elections.
As the party prepares for its regional executive elections, Big Aidoo appealed to delegates to retain him as Regional Chairman to enable him to continue his work for the party.
He maintained that retaining the current regional leadership would allow him and his team to pursue their efforts to strengthen the NDC’s structures and improve its electoral performance in the region.
