The youth of Aowin Municipality have announced plans to embark on a demonstration against the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and MTN Ghana over what they describe as persistent poor service delivery.

According to the youth, the electricity supply in the area has been highly unreliable. They claim that power outages occur frequently, sometimes lasting for hours, disrupting daily activities and negatively affecting businesses. Many residents say the situation has existed for several years without any meaningful intervention from authorities, leading to growing frustration.

In addition to the power challenges, the youth also expressed concerns about the poor network services provided by MTN Ghana. They noted that network connectivity in the municipality is unstable and often worsens whenever there is a power outage. This, they say, affects communication, mobile money transactions, and other essential services.

The youth indicated that despite several complaints to both companies, no significant improvements have been made. As a result, they have decided to take to the streets to demand immediate action and improved service delivery.

The demonstration is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM in Enchi, the municipal capital.

They are calling on the relevant authorities to urgently intervene and ensure that both ECG and MTN Ghana address the ongoing challenges affecting residents and businesses in the area.
