The Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and Member of Parliament for the Bodi Constituency, Sampson Ahi, has assured residents that the constituency will benefit significantly from the government’s Big Push Agenda, with about 50 kilometres of roads earmarked for construction.
Speaking during an inspection of ongoing government development projects across the constituency on 25 July 2026, Mr. Ahi said the government had secured US$500 million from the World Bank to finance road infrastructure projects across Ghana. According to him, the funding will accelerate the construction and rehabilitation of roads to improve transportation and boost economic activities.
Mr. Ahi explained that Bodi Constituency has been prioritised because many of its roads are in a deplorable condition. He disclosed that approximately 50 kilometres of roads in the constituency have been captured under the programme.
The roads to be constructed include the Afere–Benusuo–Duku Krom–Amoaya Road, covering about 20 kilometres, and the Bodi Junction–82 Junction Road, also spanning approximately 20 kilometres.
He further stated that work on the Bodi–Ahibenso Road has already commenced, although progress has been slower than expected. He noted that he has engaged the contractor to ensure work gathers momentum. He also mentioned that construction is ongoing on the Amoaya–Kwasikrom Road.
Mr. Ahi reaffirmed the commitment of the NDC government to improving road infrastructure in the constituency, expressing confidence that all the planned road projects would be completed before the end of the government’s first term in 2028.
