The Juaboso District Chief Executive (DCE), Alexander Adu Quist, on Thursday joined the District Revenue Mobilisation Taskforce during Juaboso Market Day to support the collection of market tolls and other internally generated revenue (IGF). The exercise formed part of the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to strengthen revenue mobilisation and improve financial management within the district.
The revenue mobilisation exercise aimed to increase the Assembly’s internally generated funds to finance key development projects and improve the delivery of essential public services. It also sought to promote compliance with the payment of approved market tolls and other statutory fees.
During the exercise, Adu Quist interacted with traders, commercial drivers, and other market users, encouraging them to fulfil their civic responsibility by paying the approved fees. He explained that the revenue collected would be used to support the development of the district and improve the living conditions of residents.
The DCE assured the public that the Assembly remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the prudent management of internally generated funds. He noted that every cedi collected would be directed towards projects that benefit the people of Juaboso.
He further stressed that improving revenue generation is essential for the Assembly to undertake infrastructure projects, maintain public facilities, and provide quality services without relying solely on central government allocations. He therefore appealed to residents to cooperate with the Revenue Mobilisation Taskforce during future exercises.
Adu Quist expressed appreciation to traders and other stakeholders who complied with the exercise and pledged that the Assembly would continue to engage the public on the importance of revenue mobilisation. He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to using public resources responsibly to accelerate the development of the Juaboso District.
