MTN Ghana has announced plans to construct 500 sites across the country, with the Western North Region expected to benefit from 19 of the installations.

Miss Jessica Davies Woode, an Engineer with MTN Ghana’s Network Operations team, disclosed this during a media engagement in Sefwi Wiawso.
According to her, the company plans to build 19 mast sites across the Western North Region to improve network coverage and service delivery.
She revealed that engineers had already commenced construction work in some parts of the region.

Miss Davies Woode also identified illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, as one of the challenges affecting MTN’s network infrastructure.
She explained that some illegal mining operators damage or cut fibre-optic cables laid underground, sometimes disrupting network services and affecting connectivity.
She made these disclosures while addressing the media on challenges confronting MTN’s network operations and the company’s efforts to improve service delivery.
