NPP Leadership Holds Emergency Meeting Over Court Judgement on Chairman Wontumi

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is holding an emergency meeting to review a court judgement involving its Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, over the Samreboi mining matter.

According to a statement issued on Monday, July 20, 2026, and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the meeting brings together the NPP leadership, the party’s Flagbearer, and its legal team to thoroughly examine the court’s decision and determine the appropriate next course of action.

The statement noted that the party will communicate its official position and the decisions reached after the deliberations in due course.

The General Secretary also appealed to members of the NPP to remain calm and united during what he described as a challenging period. He urged supporters to rally behind the party’s leadership, remain disciplined, and stay committed to the values and interests of the New Patriotic Party.

The statement concluded with an assurance that the party would provide further updates after the emergency meeting.
