Residents of Sefwi Asawinso in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality have been thrown into shock and grief following the tragic death of an 8-year-old girl who went missing for less than 24 hours.
The victim, identified as Josephine Ayitey, was found dead in a cocoa farm near Nkwakaw, a suburb of Sefwi Asawinso. Her lifeless body was discovered a day after she reportedly disappeared from her home.
According to the Assemblyman for the Asawinso-Sefwi Line Electoral Area, Adu Stephen, Josephine went missing on Sunday afternoon while playing with a friend. Despite efforts by family members and community residents to locate her, the search proved unsuccessful until the grim discovery the following day.
The incident has sparked fear and panic among residents, particularly parents and women, as concerns over the safety of children in the community continue to grow.

Meanwhile, authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death as the community mourns the young girl.
