The Juaboso District Assembly, led by District Chief Executive (DCE) Alexander Adu Quist, has begun preparations to relocate traders to a temporary site to pave way for the construction of the proposed 24-hour market.

The relocation has become necessary as work is set to commence on the new market project, which requires clearing the existing market space. According to the DCE, the project site has already been handed over to both the consultant and contractor, with construction expected to begin within the next two weeks.

Speaking on the development, Alexander Adu Quist explained that the Assembly is putting measures in place to ensure that traders are not disrupted during the transition. He noted that a temporary trading area is being prepared at the Juaboso Old Town Park to accommodate all affected traders.

He assured that every trader will be provided with a suitable space to continue their business activities. In addition, he emphasized that contingency plans have been made to secure extra space should the initial location become insufficient.

The DCE further revealed that by Monday, all traders will have designated spaces ready for them to resume their sales without interruption.

He therefore called on traders to remain calm and cooperative, assuring them of the Assembly’s commitment to their welfare throughout the relocation and construction period.
