Emmanuel Sowah, CEO of Legendreport.com, has made a remarkable appeal to Kofi Afful Bentel, the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso, urging him to make the completion of two abandoned school projects in his constituency his legacy.
The request highlights that the most significant achievement Kofi Afful Bentel could attain as an MP would be to lead the completion of two crucial long-abandoned projects: the Sefwi Asafo E-block (Community Day Senior High School) and the Asawinso Senior High School infrastructure.
In 2014, under the former NDC government, the construction of the Sefwi Asafo E-block began. Unfortunately, the project was left unfinished after the NDC was voted out of office in 2016, leaving the school in a state of neglect. This project holds deep importance for the people of Sefwi Wiawso, especially those in Asafo, as they eagerly await its completion for their educational benefit.
Similarly, the Asawinso SHS project, which started in 2010 under the NDC government and was funded through GETFund, involved the construction of two separate storey buildings. These buildings have since been abandoned and are deteriorating. The school, which is growing rapidly, is in desperate need of more infrastructure to accommodate the increasing number of students and prevent overcrowding.
Emmanuel Sowah passionately urged MP Kofi Afful Bentel to prioritize these projects as his legacy, noting that if completed, these developments would make a lasting positive impact on the people of Sefwi Wiawso. “The people will love and remember you forever if you champion these causes,” he said.
In response, Kofi Afful Bentel commended Emmanuel Sowah for his passionate appeal. He assured Sowah that, while he doesn’t make empty promises, he would ensure that the projects are completed during his tenure as MP. He expressed his commitment to doing everything in his power to deliver what the people of Sefwi Wiawso deserve.
