Former Member of Parliament for Akontombra, Alex Tetteh Djornobuah, remains a preferred choice among participants in LegendReport’s online poll on whether the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should consider him again as its parliamentary candidate for the 2028 general elections.

On Thursday, October 8, 2026, LegendReport posed its Question of the Day to gauge public opinion on the potential candidates the party could consider for the Akontombra Constituency ahead of the 2028 elections.

The poll was shared across LegendReport’s WhatsApp platform, TikTok and Facebook to gather views from members of the public on whether the former MP should be given another opportunity to represent the party in Parliament.

On WhatsApp, 10 comments were recorded, with eight participants supporting his return and two opposing it. Facebook recorded no comments, while TikTok attracted 4,700 views, 247 likes and 40 comments.

Of the 40 comments recorded on TikTok, 35 supported his return, three opposed it, and two expressed other views. Combined, the WhatsApp and TikTok platforms recorded 45 supportive comments out of 50, representing 90 per cent of the comments expressing a position or view across the two platforms.

The responses suggest considerable support for Alex Tetteh Djornobuah among participants who commented on LegendReport’s WhatsApp and TikTok platforms. However, the poll was conducted online and reflects only the views of those who engaged with the platforms; it should not be considered a scientific representation of the opinions of all NPP members or voters in the Akontombra Constituency.

As the NPP considers its options ahead of the 2028 general elections, the question of who should lead the party’s parliamentary contest in Akontombra is likely to remain a subject of public discussion. Whether the party will consider Alex Tetteh Djornobuah again as its candidate remains to be seen.
