The Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso, Kofi Afful Bentil, in collaboration with the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, has embarked on a community engagement tour within the municipality.

The purpose of the visit was to interact directly with residents and listen to their concerns and grievances.

Speaking during the tour, the MP explained that the initiative is aimed at helping assembly workers better understand the communities they serve. According to him, effective service delivery depends on understanding the needs and challenges of the people.

He emphasized that many assembly workers are not natives of the area, and such visits would give them firsthand knowledge of the communities, enabling them to address local challenges more effectively.

Although the team was unable to cover all communities during this round of visits, the MP assured residents that the exercise would continue during parliamentary recess periods.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Fred Kpodo, noted that the tour has been beneficial for various departments within the assembly. He said the interaction with residents has improved their understanding of local issues.

He further explained that rural development differs significantly from development in major cities like Accra and Kumasi, stressing the need for tailored approaches.

According to him, the insights gained from the visit will contribute positively to development planning and implementation in the municipality.
