The Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso, Kofi Benteh Afful, has disclosed the poor state of the dining hall at Asawinso Senior High School and announced plans for the construction of a new and modern facility.
Speaking on Liberty FM’s morning show on June 1, 2023, with Kayaso, the MP described the current dining hall as inadequate and unfit for students. According to him, the structure is in such poor condition that it resembles a chicken coop rather than a dining hall for a senior high school.
He noted that students currently do not have a comfortable and conducive place to sit and eat their meals, making the need for a new dining facility urgent.
Mr. Afful revealed that, through his lobbying efforts, government support has been secured for the construction of a new dining hall for the school. He stated that the contractor is already on-site and that preparations are underway for work to commence.
The MP expressed optimism that the project, when completed, will significantly improve the welfare of students and enhance the learning environment at the school.
