The Former Deputy Minister of Finance and former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Juaboso Constituency,Dr. Alex Ampaabeng, has expressed profound sorrow over the reported shooting incident at Sefwi Sayerano in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region, which is said to have claimed two lives and left several others injured.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Mr. Ampaabeng described the incident as deeply heartbreaking and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
I have received with deep sadness reports of the unfortunate incident at Sefwi Sayerano which is said to have resulted in the loss of two lives and injuries to others. Me wora abɔ ɛyiaye (I’m deeply sad this afternoon), he stated.
He also wished those receiving medical treatment a speedy recovery, describing the incident as a painful moment for the entire Sefwi Juaboso Constituency.
Dr. Ampaabeng appealed to residents to remain calm, refrain from any acts of retaliation, and allow the appropriate authorities to conduct a full, fair, and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to him, preserving peace and protecting lives should remain the collective responsibility of everyone during this difficult period.
He further urged the security agencies to engage the community with transparency and professionalism to restore public confidence and prevent any further escalation of tensions.
Dr. Ampaabeng emphasized that Sefwi Juaboso has long been known for its peace, unity, and resilience, urging residents not to allow the tragic incident to divide the community.
“Together, we can support the affected families, seek the truth, and ensure that justice is served through lawful means,” he said.
He concluded his message with a prayer for peace and comfort, saying, “Me ma yɛmu yɛ nwo yaakɔ. Onyameɛ boka yɛ, na ɔma asomdwoeɛ bra,” and prayed for the souls of the departed to rest in perfect peace.
