ALLEGED SELECTION OF SOME MEDIA PERSONNEL FOR POLITICAL PARTY ACTIVITIES
The attention of the Journalists Association in the Western North Region has been drawn to a statement issued by the Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Addo Harry, popularly known as Ogyaba, alleging that executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region have recruited certain journalists to advance the party’s political agenda.
Following thorough checks and consultations, the Association has not identified any of its members as being involved in the alleged political engagement. Nonetheless, members are reminded to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, neutrality, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
The Association wishes to assure all stakeholders, particularly the major political parties, of its commitment to promoting ethical and professional journalism within the region.
We also commend the major political parties for the cooperation and mutual respect demonstrated toward the media thus far.
Thank you.
