We have received reports that the Police Post at Sefwi Asempaneye has been set ablaze following the unfortunate incident at Sefwi Sayerano.
If confirmed, we strongly condemn the destruction of public property. While the anger and grief surrounding the loss of lives are understandable, violence and retaliation cannot be the path to justice.
We therefore appeal to the people of Sefwi Sayerano and all surrounding communities to remain calm and exercise restraint. We also urge the security agencies to act professionally, avoid excessive use of force, and ensure that innocent civilians are protected.
We call on the Regional Minister, traditional authorities, religious leaders, and other stakeholders to intervene immediately to restore peace and facilitate dialogue.
SADA remains committed to justice, accountability, and peaceful coexistence. Those responsible for any unlawful acts—whether civilians or security personnel—should be investigated and dealt with in accordance with the law.
Violence only creates more victims. Justice and peace must prevail.
