The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened nominations and filing of nomination forms for constituency executive positions across the country as the party prepares for its internal elections.
In the Suaman Constituency, Chairman hopeful Evans Ganyo has picked and filed his nomination forms to contest the chairmanship position.
Speaking after filing his nomination at the Suaman NDC Party Office, Mr. Ganyo described the upcoming elections as an internal party exercise and called on all aspirants and supporters to conduct decent and issue-based campaigns.
He urged candidates to focus on presenting their vision and what they intend to do for the party if elected, rather than resorting to insults and personal attacks.
According to him, the elections will eventually come to an end, and all elected executives and members will have to work together to strengthen the party.
Mr. Ganyo said the party’s biggest task should be to unite its members and work towards reclaiming the Suaman parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 general elections.
He attributed the party’s previous loss of the parliamentary seat to disunity and called on all aspirants to prioritise unity and engage in genuine campaigns throughout the election period.
He also appealed to his supporters and campaign team to desist from insults and the use of unprintable language against other aspirants and their supporters, warning that such conduct could deepen divisions within the party.
Some supporters who expressed their backing for Mr. Ganyo described him as a unifying leader who listens to party members.
They expressed confidence that his leadership could help bring members together and position the party to reclaim the Suaman parliamentary seat in 2028.
The supporters also highlighted his commitment to the youth and described him as a leader who listens to the concerns of party members.
