The Western North Journalists Association has formally appealed to the police administration in the region to provide an official update on the tragic case involving the missing 8-year-old girl in Sefwi Asawinso, who was found dead less than 24 hours after she was reported missing.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the association, Augustine Boah, the group expressed deep concern over the incident, which has sparked widespread fear and discussion among residents in the community and across the region.
According to information available to the media, two suspects have reportedly been arrested in connection with the case since yesterday. However, the association says the lack of official communication from the police has left many questions unanswered, fueling public anxiety.

The association, speaking on behalf of journalists in the Western North Region, respectfully called on the Regional Police Commander and the security agencies to brief the public on the latest developments in the investigation. They emphasized that timely communication from the police would help clarify the facts surrounding the case and reassure residents who are following the matter closely.
The statement further noted that the media remains committed to supporting law enforcement by ensuring accurate information reaches the public and urged the police to continue their cooperation with journalists in the interest of transparency and public safety.

We are counting on your usual cooperation and commitment to keeping the public informed.”
