The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Juaboso Constituency, Kwaku Aboagye, has alleged that the Juaboso District Chief Executive (DCE), Alexander Adu Quist, and the District Assembly are destroying the talents of many young people in the constituency due to the ongoing construction of the 24-Hour Market.

According to Mr. Aboagye, the Assembly has converted the Juaboso Town Park, where children and young people regularly play football and develop their talents, into a temporary market for traders while the 24-Hour Market project is under construction.

He said the decision has denied children and youth access to the football field, making it impossible for them to train and develop their sporting talents.

Mr. Aboagye stated that although he supports the construction of the 24-Hour Market, the Assembly should have identified an alternative location for the temporary market instead of occupying the town park.

He further alleged that the Assembly failed to conduct proper consultations before relocating traders to the park, adding that the decision has negatively affected the development of young football talents in the area.

According to him, the construction project is expected to last for about two years, meaning young people will be without a football field throughout that period.

If this situation continues for two years, many young talents will be lost, and that is very unfortunate,” he said.

Mr. Aboagye made these remarks during a Facebook Live interview with Emmanuel Sowah on the Legendreport Facebook page.
