Deputy Transport Minister and Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has supported graduating students of the Half Assini branch of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA) with equipment and financial assistance to help them begin their professional careers.
Madam Affo-Toffey was invited to join GHABA in celebrating the graduation of the students, marking the successful completion of their training and their transition into the world of work.
As part of her support, the Jomoro MP presented 10 hairdryers to the graduating hairdressers and also awarded them a cash prize of GH₵5,000. She further pledged to provide additional equipment to the graduates at a later date.
Addressing the graduates, Madam Affo-Toffey congratulated them on successfully completing their training and urged them to approach their careers with determination, discipline and a strong commitment to excellence. She noted that vocational and technical skills could provide a foundation for sustainable livelihoods, job creation and community development.
She encouraged the graduates to see themselves as ambassadors of Jomoro and the Western Region, urging them to maintain high professional standards and use their skills to positively represent their communities wherever they work.
The MP reaffirmed her commitment to supporting young people with practical skills, resources and opportunities that can help them become economically independent and contribute to local development.
The graduation ceremony brought together members of GHABA, families, friends and other well-wishers to celebrate the achievements of the graduates as they prepare to enter the professional world.
Madam Affo-Toffey reiterated her commitment to initiatives that promote skills development, youth empowerment and community development in Jomoro.
