Andrew Kwarteng, popularly known as Mandem Yopic, has called on leaders, traditional authorities, professionals and business owners in the Western North Region to support the establishment of regular youth forums to provide young people with guidance, mentorship and inspiration.

He believes the region needs more than opportunities for its youth, stressing the importance of creating platforms where young people can interact with experienced individuals, successful entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives and respected personalities who can share their life experiences and lessons.

According to him, engaging with people who have overcome challenges and achieved success in their respective fields could help young people gain confidence, discover their potential and make informed decisions about their future.

“Sometimes, all a young person needs is an opportunity to sit in a room with someone who has walked the path they are trying to follow. A conversation, a word of encouragement or a piece of advice can change someone’s perspective and give them the courage to pursue their dreams,” he stated.

Mr. Kwarteng appealed to influential personalities, traditional authorities, business owners and individuals with the experience, connections and financial resources to contribute to initiatives that would empower the next generation.

He emphasised that mentoring young people should not be left to chance, adding that everyone has a role to play in providing the knowledge, time, experience and encouragement needed to help them succeed.

He further proposed the organisation of regular youth forums across the Western North Region, where young people could ask questions, learn from the experiences of successful individuals, build confidence and receive guidance on their personal and professional development.

Mr. Kwarteng noted that while celebrating successful personalities from the region was important, creating opportunities for them to mentor and inspire young people would make their achievements even more meaningful.

He maintained that the youth of Western North possess immense talent, dreams and potential but often need the right guidance, supportive environments and encouragement to realise their ambitions.

He expressed hope that leaders and other stakeholders would embrace the initiative and work together to establish sustainable mentorship platforms capable of positively shaping the future of young people across the region.

He concluded with a call for collective action, emphasising that investing in the guidance and development of young people today could create a lasting impact for generations to come.
