The Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi Central Constituency in the Western Region, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has donated medical equipment worth GH¢1.5 million to enhance healthcare delivery across the district.

The equipment comprising anaesthetic machines, patient monitors, centrifuges, blood pressure apparatus, and weighing scales is aimed at improving healthcare services and strengthening medical infrastructure within the constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the MP, the District Chief Executive for Amenfi Central, Peter Amponsah, stated that the donation forms part of a broader plan by Joana Gyan Cudjoe to upgrade the Manso Amenfi Health Centre into a fully functional hospital. He urged the District Health Directorate and healthcare professionals to make effective use of the equipment to improve service delivery and ensure proper maintenance.

He further called on key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, non-governmental organizations, and philanthropists, to support efforts to elevate the Manso Amenfi Health Centre to a standard district hospital.

The District Health Director, Mr. Ganiyu Kantamah Nuhu, commended the MP for her commitment to improving healthcare in the area. He noted that the initiative is particularly significant given that Wassa Amenfi Central, with a population exceeding 130,000, currently lacks a district hospital—making access to quality healthcare a major challenge. He assured that the equipment would be put to good use.

Nana Hyia Agyemang III, Chief of Manso Amenfi, also expressed gratitude to the MP for the donation. He highlighted that the intervention aligns with her vision to upgrade the facility into a polyclinic and appealed to the government and the Electricity Company of Ghana to ensure stable power supply to support healthcare delivery and safeguard patients across the district.
