The Member of Parliament for Bodi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi, has donated medical supplies worth GH¢300,000 to the Bodi Health Directorate in the Western North Region.

The donation was made on Monday, August 10, 2026, as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and equip health facilities in the constituency.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Ahi explained that the initiative followed a recent visit to a community where he discovered that a CHPS compound was operating without adequate equipment, despite pregnant women relying on the facility for childbirth.

According to him, the situation was a major concern, prompting him to reconsider the immediate focus on constructing new health facilities and instead concentrate on equipping existing facilities to meet the required standards.

He said his office had so far supported the construction of about six CHPS compounds in the constituency and assured residents that he would continue to support the development of healthcare infrastructure and services in Bodi.

Mr. Ahi urged the Bodi Health Directorate and beneficiary facilities to take proper care of the equipment and ensure that they are well maintained to serve their intended purpose.

He further pledged to continue supporting the health sector in the constituency based on identified needs.

The Chief of Sefwi Bodi, Nana Kwasi Ofori Ababio, commended the MP for the donation and his continued efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the constituency.

He encouraged Mr. Ahi to do more for the people and called on the health authorities to properly maintain the equipment and make good use of it.

The Bodi Health Director, Dr. Paul Noah Quarm, also expressed appreciation to the MP for the support.

He appealed to Mr. Ahi to consider providing motorcycles to the Directorate to improve transportation and facilitate effective monitoring and delivery of healthcare services, particularly in communities within the constituency.
