The Member of Parliament for Jomoro in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has donated items and cash to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), provided working tools to skilled artisans, and supplied first-aid equipment to community medical first responders as part of efforts to improve livelihoods and strengthen healthcare delivery in the constituency.

The interventions are aimed at empowering vulnerable groups, promoting entrepreneurship, creating employment opportunities, and improving access to essential public services for residents of Jomoro.
As part of the support for Persons with Disabilities, beneficiaries received 30 chest freezers, alongside various cash amounts, to help them establish or expand their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and achieve greater financial independence.
The items distributed included chest freezers, tricycles (Aboboyaa), sewing machines, cooking utensils, gas cylinders, gas ovens, and other essential equipment.
Under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Model, Madam Affo-Toffey also presented working tools to artisans participating in the Skilled Support Training Programme.
The equipment included sewing machines, hair dryers, wheelbarrows, shovels, electric irons, spraying machines, and other tools to enable beneficiaries to establish their own businesses and become self-employed.
The initiative is expected to promote skills development, encourage entrepreneurship, and contribute to efforts to address youth unemployment in the constituency.
In the healthcare sector, community medical first responders, particularly ambulance service assistants, received first-aid equipment to strengthen their capacity to respond to basic health emergencies.
The support is intended to improve emergency response at the community level and enhance the quality of services provided to residents, especially in situations requiring immediate medical attention.

Additionally, Madam Affo-Toffey commissioned a building to accommodate the Births and Deaths Registry and the National Identification Authority (NIA).
The facility is expected to bring the two public institutions closer to residents, making it easier for them to access essential registration and identification services without travelling long distances.
Highlighting the interventions, the Jomoro MP reaffirmed her commitment to empowering residents, creating opportunities, and ensuring that development reaches communities across the constituency.
She expressed optimism that the initiatives would improve livelihoods, promote self-reliance, support local businesses, and strengthen the delivery of essential public services.
The interventions form part of her stated commitment to inclusive development and improving the welfare of the people of Jomoro.
