JOMORO, Western Region, Ghana — Residents of Tweakor 1, Tweakor 2, Navrongo and Bentilibo in the Jomoro Municipality are a step closer to gaining access to electricity following the provision of an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) transformer by their Member of Parliament, Dorcas Affo-Toffey.

The intervention marks a significant step towards fulfilling the MP’s promise to extend electricity supply to the four communities, raising hopes among residents who have long anticipated access to reliable power.

Madam Affo-Toffey, who also serves as Deputy Minister of Transport, has taken a concrete step towards addressing the electricity needs of the beneficiary communities and supporting local development.

Access to electricity is expected to improve living conditions, create opportunities for small businesses, support educational activities and enhance access to essential services once the necessary installation and connection works are completed.

For residents of Tweakor 1, Tweakor 2, Navrongo and Bentilibo, the provision of the transformer represents an important milestone in efforts to connect their communities to the national electricity grid.

Households, business operators and other residents are expected to benefit from improved access to power, which could contribute to economic activity and enhance their overall quality of life.

However, the provision of the transformer does not necessarily mean that electricity supply can begin immediately. The commencement of power supply will depend on the completion of the required technical processes, installation works and other necessary arrangements by the relevant electricity authorities.

Residents will therefore be looking forward to the timely completion of these outstanding processes to enable them to enjoy the benefits of electricity.

The intervention highlights the importance of sustained efforts by public officials and relevant institutions to address infrastructure challenges and expand access to essential services in underserved communities.

With the ECG transformer now provided, the prospect of electricity becoming available in Tweakor 1, Tweakor 2, Navrongo and Bentilibo appears closer to reality.

For Madam Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the intervention represents a key step towards fulfilling her commitment to the people, while for the beneficiary communities, it offers renewed hope for improved living standards, economic opportunities and a brighter future.

The four communities now await the completion of the remaining processes that will translate the provision of the transformer into actual electricity supply.
