The Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has commissioned two healthcare posts at New Berekum and Sefwi Boinzan in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

The facilities have been established under the government’s Free Primary Healthcare initiative to improve access to essential healthcare services, particularly in rural communities.

Speaking after the commissioning, Mr Akandoh said the healthcare posts would bring basic medical services closer to residents and reduce the long distances they previously travelled to seek medical attention.

He explained that the initiative aims to strengthen primary healthcare delivery by promoting early diagnosis and treatment, especially in underserved communities.

The minister further indicated that healthcare services provided at the primary healthcare posts would be free of charge, enabling residents to access essential medical care without the burden of travelling long distances.

The commissioning forms part of broader government efforts to strengthen primary healthcare and improve access to essential medical services across the country.

Meanwhile, other healthcare posts under construction in the Juaboso District are at various stages of completion. When completed, the facilities are expected to further expand access to healthcare and improve service delivery across the district.

Some residents of the beneficiary communities commended the minister for the initiative, expressing relief that they would no longer need to travel long distances to access basic healthcare services.

They said the facilities would make healthcare more accessible and convenient for residents, particularly those who previously faced challenges reaching health facilities in other communities.
