An eyewitness has testified in court against three brothers accused of involvement in an alleged armed robbery attack on a small-scale miner at Sefwi Abrokofe in the Juaboso District.
The three accused persons — Francis Enning, 26; Gideon Tano, 21; and Anthony Ahwoi, 22 — were arrested about three months ago following a reported attack at a mining site in the area, as earlier reported by legendreport.
They have since been arraigned before the Bodi Circuit Court to face prosecution for the third time .
At today’s sitting, the prosecution called its first witness, Isaac Owusu, a foreman at the mining site, who testified in open court.
According to Isaac Owusu, Francis Enning previously worked as a security man at the mining site. He told the court that on the day of the incident, he contacted Enning to assist in transporting gold from the site to town, but Enning failed to show up at the right time.

Owusu further stated that later that evening, at about 7:00 PM, he heard gunshots and questioned who was present. Enning reportedly identified himself to him and has come to guide the gold (black) home.
He explained that while returning from the site, one of the workers carrying the gold (black) was with Enning, who was armed with a gun. Sensing danger, Owusu said he kept his distance, hid in a nearby bush, and later contacted Enning by phone to inquire about their situation.

According to Owusu, Enning informed him that they had been attacked by armed robbers who made away with the gold (Black) and a firearm.
The worker who was carrying the gold was allegedly assaulted during the incident and has traveled to Togo his home town for medical treatment.
The court has granted bail to the three accused persons in the sum of GHS 200,000 each, with two sureties to be justified with properties of equal value. However, they are yet to meet the bail conditions and remain in police custody.
The case has been adjourned to May 26, 2026, for further proceedings.
