The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Western Region/Western North Region has congratulated LegendReport.com on its first anniversary, commending the online news platform for its contribution to journalism and development in the Western North Region.
The message, signed by Pollo Esposito on behalf of GJA WR/WNR Chairman Mr. Dominic Cudjoe, described LegendReport.com as an indispensable pillar of journalism in the region.
According to the message, within just one year, LegendReport.com has gone beyond reporting news to helping shape the narrative of the Western North Region through what it described as courage, integrity and visionary leadership.
The GJA highlighted several areas of the platform’s work, including its efforts to identify and honour unsung heroes who contribute to the development of their communities without receiving public recognition.
It also commended LegendReport.com for highlighting political leaders and public officials when they undertake development-oriented initiatives, while maintaining its role in informing the public.
Fight Against Illegal Mining
The GJA further acknowledged LegendReport.com’s coverage of illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, describing the platform’s efforts as a persistent campaign for environmental protection.
The association noted that such reporting helps draw attention to the protection of the region’s land, water bodies and future generations.
Promoting Journalism Ethics
The message also praised LegendReport.com for speaking against what it described as unscrupulous and unprofessional practices within the journalism profession.
According to the GJA, such efforts contribute to strengthening accountability and professional standards within the media fraternity.
The message stated that, as a fellow leader in the media space, Pollo Esposito was inspired by LegendReport.com’s commitment to truth and societal development.
It urged the management and editorial team to continue breaking boundaries, challenging the status quo and serving as a voice for the Western North Region.
